1Our Commitment
Alex Goodman, Sales Representative at RE/MAX Your Community Realty, Brokerage, is committed to providing real estate services and digital experiences that are accessible to people with disabilities. We strive to remove barriers, identify and address obstacles, and design our website and forms so that they can be perceived, understood, navigated, and used by the widest possible audience.
This commitment aligns with our obligations under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA), the Ontario Human Rights Code, and the Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation (Ontario Regulation 191/11).
2Standards We Target
alexgoodmanrealtor.ca is designed and developed to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). WCAG 2.1 AA is the standard referenced by the AODA Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation for public-facing web content.
3What We Have Implemented
- Semantic HTML structure (proper headings, lists, landmarks) so that content is announced correctly by screen readers.
- Descriptive
alttext on meaningful images and decorative-image hiding for non-informative graphics. - Keyboard navigability: links, buttons, form controls, and interactive elements are reachable and operable using only a keyboard.
- Visible focus indicators on interactive elements so keyboard users can see where they are on the page.
- Form fields with associated labels, required-field indication, and clear error messages.
- Sufficient colour contrast between text and background on primary content areas.
- Responsive layouts that work on small screens, with zoomed-in text, and on assistive-technology devices.
- Structured-data markup (Schema.org) so search engines and voice assistants can present our content accurately.
4Known Limitations
Despite our efforts, some parts of the Site may not yet meet our target. Known limitations include:
- A small number of secondary text colours fall just short of the 4.5:1 contrast ratio recommended for body copy. These are scheduled for revision in an upcoming design pass.
- Third-party content (for example, embedded map widgets or partner listing data) may not always meet the same standards as the rest of the Site. We are working with those providers and exploring alternatives where available.
If you encounter a barrier that is not listed here, please let us know using the contact details in Section 6 so we can address it.
5Alternative Formats
On request, we will provide information on this Site, and any documents referenced from it, in an alternative accessible format (for example, large print, plain text, or accessible PDF). Real estate documents we control — such as buyer-guides, listing presentations, and market evaluations — can also be provided in an alternative format on request.
We will work with you to determine a suitable format and timeline. Where a document is produced by a third party (for example, an MLS® listing, a survey, or a status certificate), we will help you obtain an accessible version where one is available.
6Feedback and Contact
We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of this Site and of our services. Please tell us if you encounter accessibility barriers or have suggestions for improvement:
